This is really a fantastic little piece...  A small (8"W x 7"H") watercolor storyboard of Mickey chopping a broom in half with an axe.  The color, while subdued, is rich.  The action is well depicted.  And it represents Mickey's reaction to Magic that he can not figure out how to control.  It also represents the start of the entire multiplication sequence that overwhelms Mickey...

"Yogi Bear Show: Bat Bear Episode" (1960-1961) - Full Storyboard

Yogi was one of those "bad" hero cartoons that was a major departure from other cartoon role models of the time -- probably why I liked it...


This is one of my favorite pieces. Unfortunately, since I can't find a way to frame it without taking over a whole wall it sits in a file drawer!

I know I posted these before, but I could not quickly find them. Instead of spending more time looking, I'll just re-post these from an unknown training film...

Nice shot showing the tracers as the plane does the approach. At first, I thought the lines were the waves being cut by the ship, but then noticed the smoke from the guns...


Good rendition of a 45-degree bank toward the target though the gun sight. I first thought the plane was getting ready for two targets on the lower left. Then noticed the "cloud" on the water surface -- which was probably the aftermath of a previous run. The fighter could still turn and dive toward the two ships, but the line seemed to be toward the cloud. That being said, I'd hate to be the pilot flying over two enemy ships. I'd rather set up on the closest ship... But what do I know.


A great example showing the closing rate between a fighter and bomber... Gives new meaning to "playing chicken."

"Melody Time: 1 Once Upon A Wintertime" (1948) [2/16] - Mary Blair Pastel Concepts

Here is a fantastic set of 15 pastel concepts (15"W x 12"H). The pastels are attributed to Mary Blair, but there are no specific notations that would verify that fact... I decided to put them in one huge 80"W x 41"H frame.
